Reviews for Restaurant Le CITIZEN
Review highlights
Based on 181 reviewsRestaurant Le CITIZEN in Antananarivo is widely praised for its unique French-Malagasy fusion cuisine, offering creative and high-quality dishes that cater well to diverse dietary preferences, including vegetarian options. Guests appreciate the charming ambiance set in a colonial house with breathtaking lake views and glimpses of the Palais de la Reine, making it a popular spot for both casual and fine dining. Service is generally attentive and friendly, although some diners note occasional slowdowns during peak hours. While the outdoor terrace enhances the experience, minor disturbances such as flies have been mentioned. Overall, the restaurant is valued for its flavorful food, inviting atmosphere, and good value for the quality provided.
A superb find in Madagascar. This restaurant was tres bien. We went on a Sunday and it was a buffet brunch. I was slightly perturbed as a vegetarian as I could see a lot of meat options. I had nothing to fear after a conversation with the host I was accommodated for in grand style. The food prepared for me was scrumptious, creative and delicious. I was very satisfied and impressed with their adaptability. I appreciated the service I was given. I would highly recommend this restaurant. My friend was very happy with her choices and she isn't a vegetarian. My only negative no alcohol but that is just personal pressure. I loved the view, so beautiful overlooking the lake.
Great hidden spit with an excellent view over the lake. French-Malagasy fusion menu surprises combined with particularly attentive service makes it one of the best places to dine in Tana.
This is fine dining with a view! Delicious food, impeccable quality of ingredients, good value for money for what you get. Drinks are a bit more on the expensive side, but still reasonable. The service can be a tad slow at times, especially during lunch hour. The outdoors atmosphere and view is nice, if it wouldn't be for flies that can disturb your dining experience. Next time I'll avoid the terrace and sit inside
This is quite a little gem. An old colonial house turned restaurant with breathtaking views over a lake that also allows you to see the lit-up Palais de la Reine. Very cozy and homey but classy! The food is also pretty good and at a reason price. Would 100% recommend the Soufflé. Don't forget to ask for the Olive Tapenade. It's pretty good
Pure excellence. Very friendly staff who also speak English. Great choice of dishes including vegetarian. Food is of excellent quality and beautifully presented. The restaurant has a nice terrace with great view over the lake and the city.
Colourful and nicely designed dishes. The octopus curry was delicious and the aubergine in different textures was very original and it had a really good taste because of the sauce and nice ingredient mixture. The service was good, polite and professional. Definitely, we will come back.
Great food with a great view and a very clean restaurant (no flies), this is a commendable restaurant!
The best food in Madagascar. Pricey but the quality is superb. We stayed in the hotel and we tried breakfast, brunch, dinner and the special menu for New year eve which was incredible!
